About

Amy Payne began her professional life with a decade in the business of Higher Ed publishing. From there, she returned to her great love, language, and earned her MFA in Creative Writing from San Francisco State University. This degree, combined with her experience, opened the door to writing, teaching, and speaking, a path she’s been walking ever since.

In late 2020, a long road trip under big western skies returned to her the understanding that writing is part of what makes her most alive. In 2021, after almost 20 years, she left the formal classroom to give her writing its time. And, here she is. Doing it.
